BakersBodega can trace its origins all the way back to 1965. The Lopez’s family
businesses have served California and Baja California since 1965.

Our founder, Leopoldo Lopez Jr., started out in his family
business back in 1965 with a single grocery store serving the
border town of San Ysidro and soon grew to include a wholesale
business.

1981, Leo and his brothers and sisters expanded with a
successful wholesale operation serving grocery retailers and
foodservice customers.

1992 Ventured into Baja California Mexico as a grocery and
foodservice importer. Bodegas Herlomex in Mexico formed
strategic relationships with leaders in the industry including
Westco (now BakeMark), SYSCO and US Food Service.
Bodegas Herlomex was among the first and fastest growing
importers of Westco-Bakemark products Mexico.

2008 Leopoldo Lopez Jr., and his sons and daughters partnered
with BakeMark USA and the first BakersBodega was formed as
the exclusive Cash & Carry for BakeMark USA.

2016 The first BakersBodega franchise opened its doors in
Baldwin Park ,CA and also in Escondido, CA.

2017 The second corporate store opened in Anaheim, CA.

2019 BakersBodega opens a refreshed version 10,000 square
foot retail location

Started out in his family business back in 1965 with
a grocery store serving the border town of San
Ysidro with his brothers and sisters. The
“MAYOREO” or wholesale division soon followed.
